No Guesswork, Just Gains
I have used the Bullworker for a good few years now, and also have the two sizes of Steel Bow.
I've had the 60th Anniversary Edition now for about a month, here are my notes on this:
Plus points:
- The 28" appears to be the better size for the average guy.
- The rubberised grips are much better improvement, this should have been brought in with the Steel Bows.
- The variety of included springs.
- The notch that locks the tubes has a slight improvement that prevents wobble and loosening when bringing them together if you're gripping the tubes in an exercise.
- Smoother movement overall.
Negative points:
- Cost... Looking at the new X5 Pro 28" at half the price, really... For a colour change?
- The unit has begun squeaking. Changing the spring or just opening it up and re-jigging it does help, for a while. There appears to be a very fine powder on the end of the springs, so I don't know if this will eventually wear through.
-The straps, now being on one side, do cause the unit to vere off off at angles if you just grab the one strap, making it clumsy to use. The manual does state that where the straps are joined, they should be at the same end of it, I assume to prevent this. It doesn't always do so.
- The stiching on the straps doesn't look robust, but, time will tell.
I was going to give it 4 stars, but after the price of the new X5...

I was going to give it 4 stars, but after seeing the price of the new X5...
This has been the Unicorn we have been waiting for and it arrived to day.
The quality is second to none.
The grips are solid rubber and gives a whole new experience.
Even the spring quality is different
The fact that they made it into an X5 has made it like nothing else on the market.
The nylon straps give you four different options.
The 28" is absolutely 100% correct
Bullworker have really left the completions in the dust.
Thank you Bullworker Team
The X5 Pro 60th Anniversary 28 inch model is the most surprising and exciting Bullworker to be produced since the Bullworker 2 was originally launched in the 1960s. Since I have been a die-hard Bullworker enthusiast since buying my first Bullworker 2 in 1970, I decided that despite the hefty price tag, the best model for me would be the X5 Pro Anniversary edition. Also, as the founder of TWiEA (The World Isometric Exercise Association), it would be a duty to objectively review the new device. I admit to being absolutely thrilled when the X5 Pro arrived, however, there was always a nagging question in the back of my mind if it would be worth the price tag. The first thing that struck me was that in every respect the X5 Pro is a high-precision Rolls-Royce-grade device that is perfectly designed and engineered. The device is light, extremely strong, and is super-smooth in operation. This is the first Hughes-designed Bullworker not to feature a high-quality plastic-coated steel cable as one of the primary means of operation. Instead, the X5 Pro features a high-quality twin webbing arrangement on each side that does not pass through each end handgrip but rather operates each side independently. The most obvious benefit of this system is that it allows the user to quickly extend or shorten the ROM (Range Of Motion) being used for each exercise. If exercising isotonically with the twin straps on each side, then changing to first one outer strap and then the other outer strap, it is just like performing drop-sets with a barbell where a training partner would remove a plate on each side to allow the exerciser to perform more reps. In addition, this same system whereby the webbing straps operate each side independently and do not pass through each end of the X5 Pro allows for each of the twin tubes and even the handgrips at each end to be used as lifting points. Again, this only serves to dramatically increase the variations of effective and biomechanically correct exercises that can be performed with the new X5 Pro. To summarise my review of this exciting new Bullworker I can hand-on-heart say that in my humble opinion, it is the very best Bullworker that has ever been made, the 60th Anniversary edition is well worth the price tag for anyone serious about their training, and it is not just a precision-engineered device, it is also a thing of beauty. I love the X5 Pro Anniversary edition so much that if I were to be deliberately castaway on a desert island and could choose only one Bullworker to take with me that could do everything I could ever want, then I would choose the X5 Pro Anniversary edition every time. It really is that good!

Fabulous! I have most of the Bullworker products but this is my favourite! The size is ideal on every exercise! The movement is really smooth and the progression of tension on the springs also ideal for me.
Having the straps really does offer a greater range of exercises, and I think it is worth getting a copy of the old X5 manual to see additional options!
If I only had one Bullworker it would have to be this one.
